The government of Trinidad and Tobago has basically declared Jamaicans of modest means persona non grata and have been denying them entry into their country and at the same time, it is alleged that they are being mistreated prior to deportation, so where is all this coming from?

There was a time not so long ago, when Jamaica was the top dog in the Caribbean, we had a thriving economy, the US dollar was worth only sixty nine cents Jamaican, there were jobs aplenty, but many a feather was ruffled across the region when Jamaica opted out of Federation, not wanting to be saddled with the demands of the poor Caribbean states, an act which was considered an insult by many, so this grudge is coming from way back.

Fast forward to 2016, we are under an IMF regime and times are hard, the bottom line is that Trinidad and Tobago is not going to entertain visitors, who in their opinion could be a burden to the state, so where no bones are provided, no dags are invited.
